...TORNADO DAMAGE SUSPECTED IN MONROE COUNTY, MS...

A BOWING LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCED WHAT IS HIGHLY SUSPECTED
TO BE TORNADO DAMAGE IN MONROE COUNTY MISSISSIPPI THIS
MORNING...MAY 25, 2015. DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED MODERATE TO STRONG
ROTATION MOVING INTO WESTERN MONROE COUNTY AROUND 8:30
AM...TRACKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF AMORY AND SMITHVILLE BEFORE
WEAKENING AND MOVING INTO SOUTH ITAWAMBA SHORTLY AFTER 9:00 AM.
INITIAL REPORTS OF DAMAGE WERE RECEIVED AROUND 9:10 AM. FOLLOWING
THAT REPORT...NUMEROUS ADDITIONAL REPORTS OF DAMAGE AND PICTURES
WERE RECEIVED VIA SOCIAL MEDIA OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS WERE IN EFFECT BETWEEN 8:00 AND 9:30
AM AND TORNADO WARNINGS WERE IN EFFECT BETWEEN 8:35 AND 9:15. NO
INJURIES HAVE BEEN REPORTED. INCIDENTALLY...SMITHVILLE, MS WAS
DEVASTATED BY AN EF-5 TORNADO ON APRIL 27, 2011.

WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING TO GET A SURVEY CREW TO THE REGION TO
CONFIRM THE TORNADO DAMAGE AND ESTABLISH ITS INTENSITY.
