DISCUSSION... A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WILL
MOVE SLOWLY SOUTHWARD BRINGING PERIODS OF SHOWERS INTO MONDAY NIGHT
OR EARLY TUESDAY...DECREASING TUESDAY AFTERNOON. GENERALLY LIGHT
AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT WITH THE GREATEST AMOUNTS IN
THE MOUNTAINS. ENHANCED LIFT AHEAD OF THE UPPER TROUGH COULD BRING
MORE WIDESPREAD RAINFALL TO THE MOUNTAINS AND LOWER DESERTS EASTWARD
INTO ARIZONA FOR SUNDAY INTO SUNDAY NIGHT. THE INITIAL MID LEVEL
COLD POOL WILL MOVE ACROSS FAR SOUTHWESTERN CALFIFORNIA ON MONDAY.
THIS IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE THE SHOWER COVERAGE AND INTENSITY AND
ALSO BRING A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. A SECOND POCKET OF MID
LEVEL AIR AND ASSOCIATED INSTABILITY MOVES ACROSS FAR SOUTHWESTERN
CALIFORNIA FOR LATE MONDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY.

THROUGH TUESDAY...LIQUID EQUIVALENT PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS ARE
EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM ONE HALF TO THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH NEAR
THE COAST TO 2 TO 3 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH LOCALLY GREATER
AMOUNTS. IN THE DESERTS...RAINFALL AMOUNTS AROUND ONE QUARTER INCH
WITH LOCALLY GREATER AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED.

THE SNOW LEVEL WILL LOWER TO AROUND 5500 FEET TODAY...AND TO 4500 TO
5000 FEET FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY INTO EARLY TUESDAY.
