...ELEVATED THREAT OF ERRATIC FIRE BEHAVIOR THIS AFTERNOON...

THERE IS AN ELEVATED THREAT OF ERRATIC FIRE BEHAVIOR THIS
AFTERNOON...MAINLY FROM NOW TO AROUND 6 PM...AS WELL AS ENHANCED
WILDFIRE GROWTH AND SPREAD POTENTIAL.

SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE CONTINUES TO BRING DRIER AIR INTO EXTREME
WESTERN PORTIONS OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS IN THE WAKE OF A WEAK COLD
FRONT MOVING EASTWARD ACROSS THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON. RELATIVE
HUMIDITY VALUES WILL FALL INTO THE 20S AND 30S ACROSS PORTIONS OF
THE UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND NORTHWEST RANCHLANDS THIS
AFTERNOON WITH FUELS REMAINING CURED. IN ADDITION...WINDS CONTINUE
INCREASE FROM THE NORTHWEST PRODUCING 20-FOOT WIND SPEEDS NEAR 15
MPH WITH GUSTS TO NEAR 20 MPH.

THE THREAT WILL DIMINISH BY THIS EVENING AS WIND SPEEDS DECREASE
AND TEMPERATURES BEGIN TO COOL ALLOWING RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES
TO RECOVER.
