DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
958 AM EDT SAT MAY 28 2016

...All river forecast points forecast below flood stage. Risk of
isolated urban and small stream flooding exists through Monday...

Tropical Depression 2 remains the forecast issue for the next 72 hours.
Currently...it is about 225 mi SSE of Charleston...moving NW at 14 mph.
Conditions are favorable for it to strengthen to Tropical Storm status
this evening as it approaches the SC coast. Heaviest rainfall amounts
are expected primarily in the Coastal Plain...with inland amounts
exceeding 2 inches or more...with locally higher amounts possible over
the next 72 hours. Primary river impacts are expected in the Edisto and
mid-to-lower Savannah River Basins. Uncertainty remains as to track
and timing of the system. At this time...no significant river flooding
is expected as reservoirs have available storage capacity. Our biggest
concern is localized urban and small stream flooding in heavier rain
bands over the weekend.
