...MATANUSKA RIVER REMAINS JUST BELOW FLOOD STAGE...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A RIVER STATEMENT FOR THE
MATANUSKA RIVER. NO SIGNIFICANT FLOODING IS EXPECTED AT THIS
TIME.

THE MATANUSKA RIVER CRESTED LATE THIS MORNING AND IS SLOWLY
DROPPING AT THIS TIME. ANOTHER CREST IS EXPECTED LATE THURSDAY
MORNING. THIS CREST WILL AGAIN APPROACH FLOOD STAGE...BUT IS NOT
EXPECTED TO EXCEED THE LEVEL OF THE CREST ON WEDNESDAY. RIVER
BANK EROSION IS THE MAIN THREAT WITH THIS EVENT.
