THE HIGHER TOTALS IN SOUTHERN KENTUCKY NEAR THE TENNESSEE BORDER.
COLD TEMPERATURES WERE ONCE AGAIN ON TAP...WITH 7 AM READINGS
GENERALLY RANGING FROM THE UPPER TEENS TO THE MIDDLE 20S. BY MID
AFTERNOON...TEMPERATURES HAD ONLY WARMED INTO THE UPPER 20S AND
LOWER 30S. NORMAL LOWS FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR ARE IN THE UPPER 20S
WITH HIGHS TYPICALLY IN THE UPPER 40S.

LOOK FOR SNOW SHOWERS TO COME TO AN END ACROSS EASTERN KENTUCKY
BY THIS EVENING AS COLD CONDITIONS SET IN. AFTER LOWS IN THE 10
TO 15 RANGE TONIGHT...HIGHS ON SATURDAY WILL ONLY REACH TO AROUND
20 DEGREES. ANOTHER CHANCE OF WINTER WEATHER WILL ARRIVE LATE
SUNDAY INTO MONDAY...WITH ACCUMULATING SNOWS LIKELY. THERE IS
STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY ON SPECIFIC SNOWFALL TOTALS. TUNE IN TO

ON THIS DAY IN WEATHER HISTORY...IN 1985...MOST OF EASTERN KENTUCKY
WAS BLANKETED WITH 4 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOWFALL. THE JACKSON WEATHER
OFFICE RECORDED 12 INCHES OF SNOWFALL WHICH STILL STANDS AS OUR
DAILY RECORD SNOWFALL FOR FEBRUARY 12TH. THE COOPERATIVE OBSERVER AT
RELIEF... WHICH IS CLOSE TO THE MORGAN AND JOHNSON COUNTY LINE ALSO
REPORTED 12 INCHES. 10 TO 11 INCH REPORTS WERE RECEIVED FROM
LAUREL...MARTIN AND JOHNSON COUNTIES.
