...A VERY ACTIVE MONSOON TROUGH WILL CAUSE INCLEMENT WEATHER THE
NEXT FEW DAYS...

A DEVELOPING TROPICAL DISTURBANCE NORTH OF KOROR AND WEST OF YAP IS
CENTERED AT 9N136E. A MONSOON TROUGH STRETCHES NORTHEASTWARD FROM
THE DISTURBANCE TO THE MARIANA ISLANDS THEN CURVES EASTWARD AND
SOUTHEASTWARD TO ANOTHER DISTURBANCE CENTERED NORTH OF POHNPEI NEAR
9N157E. COMPUTER MODELS AND SATELLITE TRENDS INDICATE THAT WEATHER
CONDITIONS ACROSS MICRONESIA WILL BE VERY UNSTABLE AND CHANGEABLE IN
THE COMING DAYS.

FOR YAP STATE AND THE REPUBLIC OF PALAU...

SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH AND PERIODS OF HEAVY SHOWERS ARE
EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS. SEA CONDITIONS WILL BE HAZARDOUS
FOR OPERATORS OF SMALL BOATS. COMBINED SEAS OF 9 TO 13 FEET IN THE
AREAS SURROUNDING YAP AND KOROR ARE EXPECTED THROUGH SUNDAY ALONG
WITH HAZARDOUS SURF IN THE RANGE OF 10 TO 14 FEET. IF THE TROPICAL
DISTURBANCE FURTHER INTENSIFIES...THEN SEA CONDITIONS COULD BUILD
EVEN HIGHER ON SUNDAY. RAINFALL WILL BE HEAVY ENOUGH AT TIMES TO
CAUSE FLOODING OF RIVERS AND LOW LYING AREAS ALONG WITH THE RISK OF
MUDSLIDES ON THE HIGHER ISLANDS.

FOR CHUUK...POHNPEI AND KOSRAE STATES...

WEATHER WILL BE UNSTABLE FOR THESE AREAS. SOUTHWEST TO WEST MONSOON
WINDS OF 10 TO 20 MPH AND LOCALLY HEAVY SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH
SUNDAY AND MONDAY. SEA CONDITIONS WILL BE HAZARDOUS AT TIMES FOR
OPERATORS OF SMALL BOATS. COMBINED SEAS WILL RANGE FROM 5 TO 8 FEET
BUT COULD APPROACH 10 FEET IN STRONG WIND GUSTS NEAR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS. HAZARDOUS SURF IS EXPECTED FOR WEST FACING SHORES OF
THOSE ISLANDS MOST EXPOSED TO THE MONSOON FLOW. RAINFALL COULD BE
HEAVY AT TIMES WITH FLOODING OF RIVERS AND LOW LYING AREAS. THE RISK
OF MUDSLIDES COULD DEVELOP ON THE HIGHER ISLANDS THIS WEEKEND.

THE REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS...

THE MARSHALL ISLANDS WILL REMAIN ON THE EASTERN EDGE OF THE MONSOON
FLOW AND WILL BE AFFECTED BY CONVERGENT WINDS AND SHOWERY WEATHER
THIS WEEKEND.

STAY INFORMED ON THIS DEVELOPING WEATHER SITUATION...ESPECIALLY IF
PLANNING MARINE ACTIVITIES. LISTEN FOR UPDATES AND INSTRUCTIONS FROM
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICES.
