.FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE THURSDAY AS ANOTHER UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE SLIDES THROUGH. STORM MOTIONS REMAIN ANEMIC...AROUND
15 TO 20 MPH. HEAVY RAIN WAS OBSERVED THIS EVENING WITH SEVERAL
REPORTS OF FLASH FLOODING...ESPECIALLY ACROSS SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA.
CREEKS ARE ALSO HIGH IN LOGAN COUNTY AS WELL. THEREFORE...WITH
SATURATED SOILS...PERSISTENT ADVECTION OF RICH GULF OF MEXICO
MOISTURE AND ANOTHER ROUND OF SLOW-MOVING STORMS WITH HEAVY RAINS
EXPECTED...A FLASH FLOOD WATCH WAS NEEDED.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GOODLAND HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF EAST CENTRAL COLORADO...
  NORTHWEST KANSAS AND SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA...INCLUDING THE
  FOLLOWING AREAS...IN EAST CENTRAL COLORADO...YUMA. IN
  NORTHWEST KANSAS...CHEYENNE KS...GOVE...LOGAN...RAWLINS...
  SHERIDAN...SHERMAN...THOMAS AND WICHITA. IN SOUTHWEST
  NEBRASKA...DUNDY AND HITCHCOCK.

* FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING

* EXCESSIVE RAINFALL FROM SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS AND SATURATED
  SOILS.

* TIMING: THE BEST CHANCE FOR SLOW MOVING STORMS WITH HEAVY RAINS
          IS BETWEEN 2 PM MDT AND 10 PM MDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT ADDITIONAL RAINFALL MAY RESULT IN
FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE QUICKLY TO HIGHER
GROUND SHOULD FLASH FLOODING OCCUR.
