...The National Weather Service in Goodland, Ks has issued a flood
warning for the following rivers...

  Republican River At Stratton affecting Hitchcock County.

.Heavy rainfall of 3 to 6 inches or more Wednesday afternoon
and evening across southwest Hitchcock county in extreme southwest
Nebraska has caused the Republican River at Stratton to rise above
flood stage. The emergency manager reported that the Republican River
has overflowed its banks by a quarter to half mile on both sides of
the river.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Do not drive cars through flooded areas...as the
depth of water may be enough to float your vehicle.

The National Weather Service in Goodland, KS has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  The Republican River At Stratton.
* until Friday morning..
* At  6:45 AM Thursday the stage was 10.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Forecast...Continue to rise above flood stage this morning and
  rise to near 11.4 feet by this afternoon. The river will fall
  below flood stage late this evening into the early morning hours.
* Impact...At 11.0 feet...Lowland areas will become flooded.
