IN 1934, GOODLAND KANSAS WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF ITS WORST HEAT WAVE
ON RECORD. THE TEMPERATURE CLIMBED ABOVE 100 DEGREES FOR AN
UNPRECEDENTED 13 CONSECUTIVE DAYS BETWEEN JULY 10 AND JULY 22. THE
TEMPERATURE ON JULY 13 WAS THE HOTTEST OF THOSE DAYS, REACHING
108 DEGREES.

IN 2007, THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCED HAIL TO THE SIZE OF QUARTERS IN
HITCHCOCK COUNTY NEBRASKA.
