...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

IN 2004, A LOCALIZED MICROBURST CAUSED 63 MPH WINDS NEAR THE GOODLAND
AIRPORT.  AT THE SAME TIME DURING THE MID AFTERNOON MICROBURST, WINDS ONLY
A HALF MILE AWAY AT THE WEATHER OFFICE WERE LESS THAN 35 MPH.

IN 2005, A 64 MPH THUNDERSTORM WIND BROKE A POWER POLE SOUTH OF GOODLAND
DURING THE LATE EVENING.  EARLIER, A 59 MPH WIND WAS REPORTED IN TRENTON,
NEBRASKA, IN HITCHCOCK COUNTY.  NO DAMAGE WAS REPORTED HOWEVER.
