...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1984, a winter storm with heavy snow and strong wind hit the
northwest corner of Kansas. Snowfall of 6 to 12 inches fell north
of a line from Sharon Springs to Hill City. Blizzard conditions
resulted from the snow and 40 to 50 mph wind gusts. Roads were
closed from late on the 17th until aboud midday the 19th. Interstate
70 was closed from WaKeeney west.
