...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

IN 1962, TEMPERATURES DROPPED TO 12 BELOW ZERO AT BONNY DAM RESERVOIR
IN EASTERN COLORADO. THE TEMPERATURE DROPPED TO 10 BELOW ZERO AT
STRATTON, COLORADO.

IN 1966, A MORE WIDESPREAD OUTBREAK OF COLD WEATHER OCCURRED.
LOW TEMPERATURES WERE AROUND 10 BELOW ZERO OVER MOST OF THE
TRI STATE AREA, BUT COLBY, KANSAS, DROPPED TO 17 DEGREES BELOW ZERO
AND ATWOOD, KANSAS, DROPPED TO 16 DEGREES BELOW ZERO.
