PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GOODLAND KS
600 AM MDT THU MAR 19 2015

...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

IN 1907, GOODLAND RECORDED A HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 90 DEGREES.
THIS MARKS THE EARLIEST DAY IN THE YEAR TO EVER REACH THIS
TEMPERATURE IN GOODLAND. THIS WAS PART OF AN IMPRESSIVE EARLY
SEASON HEAT WAVE THAT SAW TEMPERATURES IN THE 80S TO NEAR 90
ACROSS THE REGION FOR NEARLY 10 STRAIGHT DAYS. THIS HEAT WAVE
HELPED TO MAKE THIS MONTH THE WARMEST MARCH ON RECORD IN GOODLAND.
THIS EARLY HEAT WAS FOLLOWED UP BY A RECORD SETTING COLD SNAP IN
MID APRIL OF 1907.
