...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON...

.THE COMBINATION OF SOUTHWEST WINDS GUSTING TO 30 MPH AND RELATIVE
HUMIDITY BELOW 15 PERCENT WILL CREATE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS. A COLD FRONT WILL QUICKLY MOVE THROUGH THE WARNING
AREA LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING SHIFTING WINDS TO THE
NORTH NORTHWEST WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH POSSIBLE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GOODLAND HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG
WARNING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM 1 PM TO 5 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON.

* AFFECTED AREA...IN COLORADO...FIRE WEATHER ZONE 253 KIT CARSON
  AND FIRE WEATHER ZONE 254 CHEYENNE CO.

* WINDS...WEST 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AS LOW AS 14 PERCENT.

* IMPACTS...THE MAIN IMPACT TO FIRE FIGHTERS WILL BE TIMING THE
  WIND SHIFT WITH THE COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE. EMERGENCY PERSONNEL
  SHOULD KEEP UP TO DATE ON THE WIND FORECAST AS A SUDDEN SHIFT
  FROM THE SOUTHWEST TO THE NORTH WILL OCCUR WITH THE FRONT.

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW...OR ARE IMMINENT. A COMBINATION OF
STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND WARM TEMPERATURES CAN
CONTRIBUTE TO EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR.
