The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of
  Western Iowa
  Northeast and Eastern Kansas
  Far Northwest Missouri
  Eastern Nebraska

* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 345 PM until
  1100 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  A few tornadoes and a couple intense tornadoes possible
  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
    mph likely
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
    inches in diameter likely

SUMMARY...Bands of intensifying strong to severe thunderstorms are
forecast to move into the Watch area from the west and southwest
during the late afternoon and evening.  The airmass continues to
gradually destabilize ahead of the developing storms and will become
favorable for organized severe thunderstorms, including supercells
and line segments.  The stronger storms will pose a risk for
tornadoes, a couple of which may be strong, and severe gusts and
large hail.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 65 statute miles
east and west of a line from 45 miles northwest of Sioux City IA to
15 miles south southeast of Emporia KS. For a complete depiction of

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.
