756 WWUS20 KWNS 062045 SEL0 SPC WW 062045 IAZ000-KSZ000-MOZ000-NEZ000-070400- URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Tornado Watch Number 190 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 345 PM CDT Mon May 6 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Tornado Watch for portions of Western Iowa Northeast and Eastern Kansas Far Northwest Missouri Eastern Nebraska * Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 345 PM until 1100 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... A few tornadoes and a couple intense tornadoes possible Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75 mph likely Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter likely SUMMARY...Bands of intensifying strong to severe thunderstorms are forecast to move into the Watch area from the west and southwest during the late afternoon and evening. The airmass continues to gradually destabilize ahead of the developing storms and will become favorable for organized severe thunderstorms, including supercells and line segments. The stronger storms will pose a risk for tornadoes, a couple of which may be strong, and severe gusts and large hail. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 65 statute miles east and west of a line from 45 miles northwest of Sioux City IA to 15 miles south southeast of Emporia KS.
