.DISCUSSION...

An area of low pressure over Middleton Island this morning will
move into Prince William Sound before weakening and moving
inland. Light rain developing this morning will become steadier as
the low moves toward the sound. Southeasterly winds will also
increase as the low approaches, with gusts 20 to 25 mph possible
by early to mid afternoon. Winds will become more southerly
overnight into early Thursday and weaken as the low moves inland.
The steady rain is likely to transition to showers by late
Thursday morning. Gusty southerly winds and more steadier rain
then returns late Thursday into early Friday as another storm
system moves into the Northern Gulf and across Prince William
Sound. Again, steadier rain is expected to transition to isolated
to scattered showers with light and variable winds for Friday
afternoon. Looking into the weekend, a frontal system is expected
to move from the western Gulf of Alaska toward the Kenai Peninsula
for Saturday. This will likely bring periods of rain from early
Saturday afternoon through Sunday along with southeasterly winds
of 10 to 15 mph.
