...TEMPERATURES IN ROCHESTER MINNESOTA IN THE MONTH OF MAY WERE SLIGHTLY BELOW
NORMAL AND PRECIPITATION WAS ABOVE NORMAL...

THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WAS 57.7 DEGREES. THIS WAS
-0.4 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 67.0
DEGREES AND THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 48.4 DEGREES. THE
HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 83 DEGREES...WHICH OCCURRED
ON THE 3RD AND THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE WAS 35 DEGREES...WHICH
OCCURRED ON THE 19TH.

A TOTAL OF 5.25 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL.  THIS WAS 1.62 INCHES
ABOVE THE NORMAL. THE GREATEST 24-HOUR PRECIPITATION TOTAL WAS 1.05
INCHES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 6TH THROUGH THE 7TH.

THERE WAS ZERO INCHES OF SNOWFALL IN THE MONTH OF MAY. THE GREATEST
24 HOUR SNOWFALL AMOUNT WAS ZERO INCHES.

LOW PRESSURE ALONG THE WESTERN US PROVIDED A MOIST SOUTHWEST FLOW
INTO MUCH OF THE MONTH. THE SOUTHWEST FLOW WAS A SET UP FOR ABOVE
NORMAL PRECIPITATION. THERE WERE 16 OUT OF 31 DAYS HAVING
PRECIPITATION WITH TWO DAYS HAVING GREATER THAN ONE INCH OF
RAINFALL. THIS WAS THE 19TH WETTEST MAY IN ROCHESTER MN.


...LOOKING AHEAD TO JUNE...

THE NORMAL HIGH TEMPERATURE RISES FROM 74 DEGREES ON THE 1ST TO 81
DEGREES ON THE 30TH. THE NORMAL LOW TEMPERATURE RISES FROM 53 DEGREES
ON THE 1ST TO 61 DEGREES BY THE END OF THE MONTH. THE MEAN
TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH IS 67.6 DEGREES.  ROCHESTER WARMEST JUNE
OCCURRED BACK IN 1933 WHEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 73.9 DEGREES.
THE COLDEST JUNE OCCURRED IN 1969 WHEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS
ONLY 59.6 DEGREES.

THE AVERAGE PRECIPITATION FOR JUNE IS 4.68 INCHES. THE WETTEST JUNE
