...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 07/05/16 TORNADO EVENT...

...TORNADO IN WABASHA COUNTY...

.OVERVIEW...A line of strong to severe storms moved through
southeast Minnesota and western Wisconsin during the evening
of July 5th and the early morning hours of July 6th. A NWS
storm survey was conducted on July 6th in Wabasha county where
a tornado has been confirmed.

The NWS found a brief tornado occurred 5 miles southwest
of Lake City Minnesota.  This tornado snapped off several
hardwood trees and the damage was convergent.  Other
damage was noted in the nearby area caused by straight-line
winds estimated between 60 and 95 mph.

Tornadoes into the following categories.

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 mph
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 mph
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 mph
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 mph
EF4...Violent...166 To 200 mph
EF5...Violent...>200 mph|
