.DISCUSSION...
Gust southwest winds will develop today south of a warm front as it
moves from northern Oklahoma into southwest Kansas. In addition to
these gusty winds a dryline will be located near or east of highway
283 and west of the dryline afternoon humidity values will fall to
near 15%. This will result in elevated to near critical fire weather
conditions for a small area of extreme southwest Kansas (west of
Meade and along the Oklahoma border).
East of this dryline today isolated to widely scattered severe
thunderstorms will be possible after 4pm. Hail larger than 2" and
strong damaging winds will be the main hazards. An isolated tornado
or two can not be ruled out.
