...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR SOUTHERN POWESHIEK...
NORTHEASTERN MONROE AND EASTERN MAHASKA COUNTIES IS CANCELLED...

The severe thunderstorm which prompted the warning has moved out of
the warned area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 PM CDT for southeastern
Iowa.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM CDT
FOR NORTH CENTRAL DAVIS AND CENTRAL WAPELLO COUNTIES...

At 228 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over What Cheer, or
8 miles northwest of Sigourney, moving northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Ottumwa and Ottumwa Industrial Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 PM CDT for southeastern
Iowa.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Des Moines .
