Fire Weather Planning Forecast for New Mexico and Far West Texas
National Weather Service El Paso TX/Santa Teresa NM
648 AM MDT Sat May 4 2024

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 9 PM MDT SUNDAY...
...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
MONDAY EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...
Near-critical to critical fire conditions expected today through
most of next week as our warm, dry pattern shows little signs of
change. Fire conditions will become critical Sunday across southern
New Mexico zones as winds pick up. Very similar winds each afternoon
Monday through Wednesday (though more evenly distributed over all
zones). Hence Fire Watch has been issued all zones Monday, and may
be needed for Tuesday and Wednesday also.
