.DISCUSSION...

Good morning!

Today starts off dry and warm with temperatures climbing into the
mid-80s (82-84) by the afternoon. Though with dewpoints in the mid
to upper 60s it may feel closer to the upper 80s this afternoon.
While we expect to day to start off dry, a few rounds of
potentially active weather are expected (including in Alpharetta)
tonight through Friday morning. Isolated thunderstorms will be
possible in the area this afternoon into the evening with the most
likely timeframe of 12PM-8PM. Winds will be out of the southwest
6 to 12 MPH. After 10PM, rain and thunderstorm chances will be on
the increase through Thursday ahead of an approaching cold front.
Some strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible overnight
through Thursday morning. Rain and thunder chances hold steady
during the afternoon on Thursday and any instance of strong to
severe thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening Thursday will
largely depend on how the morning activity evolves across the
area. A cold front will finally push rain and thunderstorms out of
the area (Alpharetta) by Friday mid-day. Breezy northwest winds
(8-13 MPH with gusts nearing 22MPH) will follow with the passage
of the cold front. Gusty, erratic winds may accompany
thunderstorms that occur in the area.
