Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

Cloud cover increased over the area during the evening and
overnight hours. Light showers moved across extreme northern
portions of the forecast area. As of 4 AM MDT (5 AM CDT),
temperatures ranged from 45 degrees in Yuma to 54 degrees in Hill
City and winds were generally light 5 to 15 mph out of the east-
southeast.

OUTLOOK... Temperatures this afternoon are forecast to warm into
the upper 50s east to upper 70s southwest. The area continues to
be under a marginal to slight risk for severe thunderstorms later
this afternoon into tonight. Overnight lows are forecast in the
upper 30s to upper 40s. Going into Thursday, winds will shift out
of the north with gusts to around 30 to 35 mph. Highs will be in
the 60s followed by chances for evening-overnight showers, maybe
a few rumbles of thunder. Overnight lows are forecast in the
middle 30s to low 40s. Southerly winds for Friday gust to around
30 to 40 mph. The area will see a marginal risk for severe
thunderstorms and afternoon highs in the upper 60s to middle 70s.
