An area of light freezing rain and sleet was found mainly south of
highway 10 this afternoon, with patchy drizzle and fog south of
Algoma along the Lake Shore. Further north...partly to mostly
cloudy skies prevailed. Afternoon temperatures were in the upper
20s and lower 30s over most locations, with mid 30s near the Lake
A wintry mix of snow, freezing rain, sleet, and rain are all
possible, mainly south of highway 29 this evening, then a chance
for mainly light snow over the far north by late tonight.
Ice accumulations of a couple tenths of an inch are expected, with
the greatest threat across central and east central portions.
Snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are also possible.
Travel is expected to become slippery and hazardous this evening
and remain icy through Tuesday morning.
This system will depart Wisconsin late Tuesday morning through
the early afternoon. After that, quiet weather is expected for a
couple of days with high temperatures well above normal.
