...ICY CONDITIONS POSSIBLE OVER FAR NORTHEAST WISCONSIN TONIGHT
INTO EARLY SUNDAY...

Rain is expected to move back into the area tonight. Temperatures
will fall to near freezing overnight, so some of the rain may
freeze on roads and sidewalks, resulting in hazardous conditions
for motorists and pedestrians. The most favorable conditions for
icing will be over the far northeast part of the state, in a swath
from Antigo to Iron Mountain.

The likelihood of precipitation tonight is high. But considerable
uncertainty exists in the temperature forecast. The current
forecast calls for lows around 31 or 32 degrees. If this forecast
holds, the icing on untreated roads would probably be limited to
scattered slippery spots. However, if temperatures fall any lower
than expected, icing on untreated roads would be much more
widespread. If it becomes apparent this will happen, a Freezing
Rain Advisory will be posted later today. If you are traveling
tonight, be sure to closely monitor forecast updates since even a
small change in the temperatures could result in significantly
worse conditions that currently expected.
