...SIGNIFICANT SNOW EXPECTED IN THE LAKE SUPERIOR SNOWBELT TODAY
AND TONIGHT...

.COLD NORTHWEST WINDS FLOWING ACROSS THE RELATIVELY WARM WATERS
OF WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR WILL GENERATE LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS
OVER NORTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN TODAY INTO TUESDAY MORNING. THE SNOW
SHOWERS ARE FORECAST TO BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES OVER NORTHWEST VILAS
COUNTY...WHERE A SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATION IS LIKELY.

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST
TUESDAY...

* LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE THIS
  MORNING...AND BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES DURING THE AFTERNOON AND
  EVENING HOURS. THE SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY
  DECREASE ON TUESDAY MORNING.

* A TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 8 TO 12 INCHES IS LIKELY IN THE
  SNOWBELT REGION OF NORTHWEST VILAS COUNTY...WITH 4 TO 8 INCHES
  EXPECTED ACROSS THE REST OF THE COUNTY.

* WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL BE STRONG ENOUGH TO CAUSE SOME
  DRIFTING SNOW. POOR VISIBILITY AND SNOW COVERED ROADS WILL
  RESULT IN HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS...SO MOTORISTS SHOULD
  ADJUST TRAVEL PLANS ACCORDINGLY.

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF LAKE
EFFECT SNOW WILL RESULT IN HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. THE
