URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL TODAY AND TONIGHT...

.A winter storm will impact the region today and into this evening
before tapering off overnight. Snow will continue to spread north
over the north half of wisconsin this morning and continue into
tonight. The snow may mix with or change to sleet or freezing rain
for a while today over parts of central and northeast wisconsin
before turning back to snow this evening. An isolated thunderstorm
is possible over parts of central and east central Wisconsin this
morning.

Significant snow and some ice accumulations will make for
hazardous travel conditions today and tonight. Air travel delays
are also likely.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST
SATURDAY...

* Periods of moderate snow will continue today. The snow may be
  heavy at times. The snow may mix with some sleet and freezing
  rain or freezing drizzle at times south of Merrill.

* Total snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches is expected. Some
  minor icing is possible.

* Hazardous travel is expected through tonight, including this
  mornings commute. The combination of snow and blustery northeast
  winds will reduce visibilities to less than one half mile at
  times and produce some drifting of the snow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring.  Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel hazardous.  If you must
travel use extreme caution, or wait until the storm has ended.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST
SATURDAY...

* Periods of snow will become mixed with sleet and freezing rain
  today before turning back to light snow this evening. Rain is
  possible along the lake michigan shore today before turning back
  to snow tonight.

* A total snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches is expected. Freezing
  rain or freezing drizzle could result in minor icing as well.

* Hazardous travel is expected through tonight, including this
  mornings commute. The combination of snow and blustery northeast
  winds will reduce visibilities to less than one half mile at
  times this morning. The winds were also producing some drifting
  of the snow.

Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
