Central Rutherford County in western North Carolina...
* Until 515 PM EDT.
* At 431 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles northwest
of Rutherfordton, or 6 miles east of Lake Lure, moving east at 10
mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
damage to trees and power lines.
* Locations impacted include...
Forest City, Rutherfordton, Spindale, Bostic, Shingle Hollow, Green
Hill, Sunshine, Union Mills, and Lake Lure.
