Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
431 AM CDT Sat Apr 27 2024

A relatively quiet night is ongoing across the Heartland when
compared to yesterday and what`s expected later today. Quite the
contrast in temperatures resides across the state with low 50s
across the northwestern half of Kansas. To the south of a sharp
warm front, temperatures are in the 60s to near 70 with much
higher moisture content.

We are monitoring the potential for thunderstorms to develop
across portions of north Texas and gradually move towards Kansas
through the morning. Their ultimate evolution will play a pivotal
role in the severity of storms this afternoon into the evening.
Bottom line, severe storms are possible this afternoon into the
evening across much of the Plains.

More widespread thunderstorm development is expected across the
eastern half of Kansas tonight. These storms will progress
eastward overnight. Very heavy rainfall across southeast Kansas
may result in flooding.
