...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM CDT
FOR SOUTHWESTERN ELK...SOUTHERN COWLEY AND CHAUTAUQUA COUNTIES...

At 816 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 5 miles northeast of Cedar Vale to 5 miles northeast
of Hardy, moving southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Arkansas City, Sedan, Cedar Vale, Dexter, Grenola, Peru, Chautauqua,
Elgin, Niotaze, Maple City, and Strother Field Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for south central
and southeastern Kansas.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
