Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
445 AM CDT Thu May 2 2024

.DISCUSSION...Areas of dense fog have developed across the
southeast this morning. This fog will lift by 10AM. Patchy fog
along with rain will be likely Friday morning. A disturbance
moving over the ArkLaTex early this morning will result in
increasing rain chances from the west today. Rain chances will
continue tonight ahead of a cold front that will be approaching.
This cold front will stall across the area and remain the focus
for rain chances mainly across the northern half of the area
through Saturday before being replaced by another stalling front
Sunday. This will prolong rain chances across the north into
Monday. Dry weather is expected Tuesday and Wednesday. Warmer than
normal temperatures are expected through Wednesday.
