and Valentine in April, while precipitation was near normal
for North Platte and above normal for Valentine...

For North Platte, the average daily mean temperature for the month
of April was 49.8 degrees which was 1.6 degrees above the normal of
48.2 degrees. The average daily high temperature for the month of
April was 65.8 degrees which was 2.6 degrees above the normal of
63.2 degrees. The average daily low temperature for April was 33.8
degrees which was 0.6 degrees above the normal 33.2 degrees. One
daily temperature record was set during the month of April for
North Platte. On the 15th, the high in North Platte was 87 degrees.
This broke the previous record of 86 degrees set in 2003, 2002,
1985, 1963 and 1898.

For Valentine, the average daily mean temperature for the month of
April was 48.0 degrees which was 0.8 degrees above the normal of
47.2 degrees. The average daily high temperature for April was
61.3 degrees which was 0.1 degrees above the normal of 61.2 degrees.
The average daily low temperature for the month was 34.8 degrees
which was 1.7 degrees above the normal of 33.1 degrees. One daily
temperature record was set during the month of April for Valentine.
On the 13th the high in Valentine was 91 degrees. This broke the
record high of 89 degrees set previously in 1908.

At Lee Bird Field in North Platte, precipitation for April
totaled 2.28 inches which was 0.01 inches below the normal of 2.29
inches. No daily precipitation records were set during the month of
April for North Platte. Snowfall for April totaled a Trace
which was 3.6 inches below the normal of 3.6 inches. Snowfall for
the 2023-2024 season stands at 40.3 inches which is 10.7 inches
above the normal of 29.6 inches.

At Miller field in Valentine, precipitation for April totaled
3.03 inches which was 0.55 inches above the normal of 2.48 inches.
One daily precipitation record occurred during the month of April
for Valentine. On the 1st, 1.17 inches of precipitation fell at
Miller Field. This broke the record of 1.06 inches set previously
in 1892. Snowfall for April totaled 7.7 inches which was 2.1
inches above the normal of 5.6 inches. One daily snowfall record
was set during the month of April for Valentine. On the 1st, 7.7
inches of snow fell at Valentine. This broke the record of 3.8
inches set previously in 1927. Snowfall for the 2023-2024 season
stands at 32.3 inches which was 1.9 inches below the normal of
34.2 inches.
