OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
851 PM CDT Wed Oct 11 2017

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure of 30.4 inches extending from western
Quebec through the Mid-Mississippi Valley will shift over the
Great Lakes on Thursday. This high will move east on Thursday
night. A cold front is expected to move down the lake Friday
night and then go stationary over the southern tip of the lake as
low pressure of 29.6 inches develops over the Central Plains. This
low is expected to lift across the middle Mississippi Valley
Saturday night causing the front to surge back north as a warm
front. The low is then expected to continue northeast across the
north end of the lake late Saturday night while dragging another
cold front across the lake.
