There is a 10 to 20 percent chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm in the mountains through the weekend, with the highest chances today (Friday). Otherwise, fairly benign conditions will continue well into next week. Northeast winds gusts of 15 to 25 mph will form each night and morning through Saturday in the mountains. Winds will turn to west to northwest for the first half of next week, with gusts of 20 to 35 over the mountains and deserts. Marine layer will continue to moderate the coastal side of the mountains. Moderately dry air will continue to affect most mountains and interior valleys with minimum humidities in the 15 to 30 percent range common. High pressure aloft will build for the second half of next week with winds turning back offshore, which will likely bring warmer and drier conditions over most areas.
