...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Illinois, including the following
  counties, southwestern Madison, northwestern Monroe and
  northwestern Saint Clair and east central Missouri, including the
  following counties and independent city, northeastern Jefferson,
  central Saint Louis and central Saint Louis City.

* WHEN...Until 1145 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 847 PM CDT, the public reported minor flooding to low
    lying urban areas in the advisory area. This is causing urban
    and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas
    have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    St. Louis, Belleville, University City, Granite City,
    Kirkwood, Maryland Heights, East St. Louis, Collinsville,
    Webster Groves, Arnold, Manchester, Creve Coeur, Fairview
    Heights, Overland, Clayton, Cahokia, Jennings, St. Ann,
    Crestwood and Town and Country.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
