...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS WESTERN
MINNESOTA...
.DISCUSSION...
A cold front will move across Minnesota & Wisconsin today.
Elevated fire weather conditions will develop behind the front
across portions of western Minnesota this afternoon. Temperatures
will warm into the upper 70s and lower 80s by early afternoon.
The front will have moved through western & center Minnesota by
mid-morning, with with winds becoming westerly to northwesterly &
a few gusts over 20 mph. Much drier air will move into the region
behind the front, along with deep mixing along the front, which
will allow for RH values to drop into the 20 to 25 percent range for
a few hours after the frontal passage across western & west-central
Minnesota. The green-up of fuels along with borderline winds will
mitigate the potential for critical fire weather conditions, but
caution is still advised with any outdoor burning this afternoon.
