FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
552 AM EDT THU SEP 3 2015

...GENERALLY QUIET WEATHER THROUGH FRIDAY...

.DISCUSSION...MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BROUGHT
SEVERE WEATHER AND HEAVY RAIN WITHIN THE LAST 24 HOURS OVER FAR
WESTERN UPPER MICHIGAN AND ALONG THE WISCONSIN BORDER AND CLOSER
TO LAKE MICHIGAN. MOST AREAS OVER THE SOUTHERN THIRD OF UPPER MICHIGAN
SAW RAIN AMOUNTS OF AT LEAST 1 INCH WITH SOME AREAS SEEING OVER 3 INCHES.
THIS HEAVY RAIN DID NOT MAKE IT OVER THE NORTHERN TWO THIRDS OF UPPER
MICHIGAN THOUGH WITH AMOUNTS STAYING GENERALLY LESS THAN A QUARTER INCH.
EXPECT MUCH QUIETER WEATHER INTO FRIDAY AS A HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE BUILDS
IN FROM ONTARIO AND QUEBEC. THERE COULD STILL BE LINGERING RAIN OVER
EASTERN UPPER MICHIGAN INTO THIS AFTERNOON. THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL
RETURN THIS WEEKEND WITH HIGHS WELL INTO THE 80S. THERE WILL BE ONLY
SMALL CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MUCH OF THE WEEKEND...WITH
GREATER CHANCES MOVING IN SUNDAY NIGHT AS A COLD FRONT SWINGS OVER THE
REGION. COOLER AND DRIER CONDITIONS WILL MOVE IN LATER MONDAY INTO
TUESDAY...WITH RAIN CHANCES RETURNING TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY.
