FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
416 AM EDT Sun Oct 15 2017

...RAIN DIMINISHING WEST TO EAST THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...

.DISCUSSION: As low pressure continues to lift northeast across
northern portions of lower Michigan through the morning hours,
breezy northerly winds will persist along with numerous rain
showers. As the pressure gradient decreases from west to east
later this afternoon and evening, wind speeds will lessen. Overall
the strongest winds are expected across eastern Upper Michigan,
especially closer to the shores of Lake Superior, where wind
gusts could approach 40 mph at times. Precipitation will also
diminish from west to east this afternoon and evening. Overnight,
isolated rain showers are possible near Lake Superior in the west
and east. As we progress into the work week, we will start to dry
out. Lingering clouds and cooler air aloft will keep temperatures
seasonable on Monday, but later in the week temperatures are
expected to climb into the 60s and possibly lower 70s.
