FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
555 AM EDT Wed Aug 16 2017

...WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL SPREADING ACROSS UPPER
MICHIGAN TONIGHT AND THURSDAY...

.DISCUSSION: There is a slight chance of showers over far western
Upper Michigan late this afternoon. Otherwise, expect partly to
mostly cloudy skies today with high temperatures generally 70 to
75 with minimum relative humidity in the 50 to 60 percent range.
Low pressure moving northeast from the Plains and reaching Upper
Michigan Thursday evening will spread showers and a few
thunderstorms across the area tonight and Thursday. Showers will
linger Thursday night and will then end west to east Friday
afternoon and evening. At this time, it appears total rainfall of
1 to 2 inches should occur across the Upper Peninsula by the time
the showers end. After a cool, wet Thursday and Friday, drier
weather will return this weekend with temperatures rising back to
a little above normal.
