FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
515 AM EDT SUN JUL 26 2015

...WARM AND HUMID THROUGH TUESDAY...THEN MORE SEASONABLE
TEMPERATURES FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE WORK WEEK...

.DISCUSSION...A HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE OVER THE GREAT LAKES REGION WILL
LEAD TO LIMITED PRECIPITATION THROUGH MONDAY. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL
FOR AN ISOLATED AFTERNOON SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM ALONG LAKE BREEZES
TODAY OVER THE CENTRAL AND EAST AND THEN OVER THE FAR WEST ON MONDAY.
THE BEST OPPORTUNITY FOR RAIN WILL COME TUESDAY NIGHT AS A STRONG LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM IN CANADA DRAGS A COLD FRONT ACROSS UPPER MICHIGAN.
CONFIDENCE REMAINS LOW ON BOTH THE COVERAGE AND RAINFALL AMOUNTS WITH
THE THUNDERSTORMS ON TUESDAY NIGHT...BUT AT THIS POINT THE BEST
CHANCE FOR MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WILL BE OVER WESTERN UPPER
MICHIGAN. BEHIND THE FRONT...BREEZY WEST TO SOUTHWEST WINDS ARE
EXPECTED ON WEDNESDAY WITH TEMPERATURES RETURNING TO MORE SEASONABLE
VALUES FOR THE END OF THE WEEK.
