...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 800 PM EDT
FOR EASTERN BEAVER...NORTHERN WASHINGTON...SOUTHERN LAWRENCE...
SOUTHERN BUTLER...ALLEGHENY...NORTHWESTERN WESTMORELAND AND WEST
CENTRAL ARMSTRONG COUNTIES...

At 738 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 7 miles northwest of Meridian to near Franklin Park to
6 miles northeast of Avella, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Law enforcement.

IMPACT...Trees snapped and uprooted. Power outages can be expected.

Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Ross Township, McCandless Township,
Monroeville, Cranberry, Moon Township, Butler, Franklin Park,
Aliquippa, Shaler Township, Plum, North Side Pittsburgh, Baldwin,
Hampton Township, Scott Township, Wilkinsburg, Robinson Township, New
Kensington, and Lower Burrell.

These storms have a history of producing damaging wind.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight EDT for western,
southwestern and west central Pennsylvania.

building.
