...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM EDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the
  following counties, Davidson, Montgomery, Randolph and Stanly.

* WHEN...Until 1030 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 812 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    Albemarle, Badin Lake, Norwood, Badin, Denton, Richfield, New
    London, Fish Tales Marina, Morrow Mountain State Park,
    Pinehaven Marina, Whip-O-Will Campground, Newsom, Eldorado,
    Lake Tillery, High Rock and Uwharrie Haven.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers,
or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and
hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
