...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 AM EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, including the following
  counties, Boyd, Carter, Greenup and Lawrence, southeast Ohio,
  including the following counties, Gallia and Lawrence, and West
  Virginia, including the following counties, Cabell, Lincoln,
  Mason, Putnam and Wayne.

* WHEN...Until 215 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1005 PM EDT, emergency management reported high water
    across several roads in the area due to prior heavy rainfall.
    Flooding is already occurring. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Huntington, Ashland, Ironton, Grayson, Coal Grove, Wayne,
    Chesapeake, Proctorville, Cannonsburg, Lake Vesuvius, Beech
    Fork State Park, Hurricane, Barboursville, Kenova, Milton,
    Catlettsburg, Ceredo, Greenup, Durbin and Burnaugh.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll
free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
