...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM CDT
FOR NORTHWESTERN OZARK AND SOUTHWESTERN DOUGLAS COUNTIES...
At 1057 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 13 miles south of
Ava, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Bryant Creek State Park, Ava, Wasola, Thornfield, Brixey, Noble,
Squires, Willhoit, Brushyknob, Rockbridge, Drury, and Gentryville.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for southwestern
Missouri.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
