At 826 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain over much of eastern
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas and also east of a Eufaula to Hugo
line. Thunderstorms with locally heavy rain were located in Ottawa,
Delaware and Adair counties in Oklahoma. The precipitation was in
the Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville area. Movement was to the
east at greater than 40 mph. The average amount where it rained last
hour was around one quarter of an inch with maximum amounts of an
inch and a half to two inches. Coverage and intensity remained about
the same as last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for this morning,
cloudy, occasional showers with thunderstorms likely. Some
thunderstorms may be severe with damaging winds, large hail, and
tornadoes.
