WISCONSIN WEATHER SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MILWAUKEE/SULLIVAN WI
257 PM CST Thu Jan 12 2017
A cold night lies ahead as a large area of high pressure over the
northern plains expands into Wisconsin. Clear skies and
diminishing winds will allow temperatures to fall to around 25
below zero in northwest Wisconsin to around 5 above in far
southeast Wisconsin. Wind Chill Advisories have been posted for
parts of north central and northwest Wisconsin for tonight.
A cold day is then expected for Friday with high temperatures only
rebounding back into the single digits above zero over much of
northern and central Wisconsin, to near 20 in the far southeast.
Quiet weather is then expected for much of the weekend, or at
least through Sunday. There is a small chance for light snow over
parts of central and southern Wisconsin Friday night.
Low pressure developing in the plains may bring light snow and a
wintery mix to southern Wisconsin Sunday night. The wintery mix
will shift over central and northern Wisconsin on Monday with
mainly rain expected in the south. This next system will likely
cause hazardous travel over parts of Wisconsin Monday into Monday
