WISCONSIN WEATHER SUMMARY

.YESTERDAY...NEARLY STATIONARY STRONG LOW PRESSURE CENTERED TO THE
EAST OF WISCONSIN BROUGHT SCATTERED AREAS OF MOSTLY LIGHT SNOW ON
MONDAY. MOST AREAS RECEIVED JUST LIGHT SNOW BUT SOME AREAS IN
SOUTHEASTERN EASTERN WISCONSIN PICKED UP SEVERAL INCHES. MILWAUKEE
RECEIVED 3.5 INCHES OF NEW SNOW ON MONDAY.

THE CIRCULATION AROUND THE STRONG PULLED COLDER AIR INTO THE STATE
FROM THE NORTHWEST. TEMPERATURES WERE NEARLY STEADY OR FELL SLOWLY
DURING THE DAY UNDER MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES.  HIGH TEMPERATURES SINCE
MIDNIGHT RANGED FROM 19 AT SUPERIOR...SOLON SPRINGS...AND NEW
RICHMOND TO 37 AT SHAWANO AND WAUPACA.  THE NORMAL HIGH TEMPERATURES
FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR ARE IN THE MIDDLE 20S NORTH TO AROUND 30 SOUTH.

NORTHWEST WINDS WERE GENERALLY IN THE RANGE OF 10 TO 20 MILES AN
HOUR WITH SOME GUSTS AROUND 25 MILES AN HOUR.

.OVERNIGHT...SCATTERED LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS CONTINUED DURING THE
OVERNIGHT HOURS. ACCUMULATIONS WERE ON THE LIGHT SIDE. TEMPERATURES
DROPPED OFF TO THE SINGLE DIGITS AND TEENS.

.FORECAST...A LARGE BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL BE CENTERED
ACROSS THE EASTERN GREAT LAKES REGION THROUGH TONIGHT. THE LOW WILL
BRING PERIODS OF SNOW SHOWERS TO MUCH OF THE STATE...WITH THE HIGHER
AMOUNTS IN THE LAKE SUPERIOR SNOW BELT. BY WEDNESDAY THE SNOW AREA
WILL HAVE SHIFTED TO THE EAST THOUGH SOME LAKE EFFECT SNOW
SHOWERS MAY STILL LINGER NEAR LAKE SUPERIOR.

HIGH PRESSURE SHOULD EXTEND ACROSS THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...WITH A WEAK TROUGH BRIEFLY ACROSS THE GREAT
LAKES THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY. A LARGE COLD HIGH IS THEN EXPECTED
TO MOVE ACROSS WISCONSIN SATURDAY...REACHING THE EASTERN GREAT LAKES
SUNDAY.
