Wisconsin Weather Summary
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
1212 PM CDT Sat Oct 14 2017

.PAST 24 HOURS...

A cold front moved through the state yesterday and last night
becoming stationary across northern Illinois overnight. This
boundary was the focus for showers and few thunderstorms. Rain
fell across the southern half of Wisconsin with totals approaching
an inch near the Illinois border. Mostly clear skies across
northern Wisconsin behind the front and widespread clouds and
occasional precipitation ahead of the front led to fairly uniform
high temperatures across the state yesterday. Highs were in the middle
50s to middle 60s approaching 70 across the far southeastern
corner of Wisconsin. Lows in the south under the clouds did not
fall off much with temperatures holding in the 50s overnight but
northern Wisconsin had the first widespread freeze of the season
with lows in the middle and upper 20s with mostly clear skies.

.FORECAST...

A vigorous storm system will affect the state today and tonight. A
strong area of low pressure will develop along the stalled frontal
boundary across Iowa today. The low will track northeast across
southern Wisconsin this evening. Widespread rain with embedded
thunderstorms will overspread the state today and tonight. Some of
the storms this evening could be strong to severe near the
Illinois border with strong winds the primary threat. The bigger
threat will be the potential for flooding due to heavy rainfall.
Some locations near the Illinois border could see another 2 to 3
inches by Sunday morning. Rain is expected to continue across
northern Wisconsin Sunday morning. Highs today will range from the
50s north to 60s south. Lows tonight are forecast to drop into
the 30s state wide with near 30 across the north and near 40 close
to Lake Michigan in southeastern Wisconsin. Highs tomorrow are
forecast to be in the upper 40s to near 50 north and lower to
middle 50s south.
