Subject:  Reinstatement of Marine Local Storm Report Event Types on
or
  about March 26th, 2024

On or about March 26th, 2024, at 1400 UTC, the National Weather
Service
(NWS) will reinstate Marine Hail and Marine Thunderstorm (Tstm) Wind
event
types within the NWS Local Storm Report (LSR) product. These had been
previously removed during the implementation of the mixed-case
Text/95
American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) character
set
in Preliminary LSRs (reference updated Service Change Notice (SCN)
23-21:

The changes will proceed after expiration in the event of a Critical
Weather Day (CWD) or an Enhanced Caution Event (ECE).

No other changes to LSR formatting are being made at this time.
