THE MONTH OF MARCH FOR ANNETTE ISLAND, AK WAS A WARMER AND SLIGHTLY DRIER MONTH
THAN AVERAGE. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 2.8 DEGREES HIGHER THAN NORMAL AND THE
AREA DID GET FAIRLY CLOSE TO THE ALL TIME HIGH OF 64 DEGREES SET IN 1994 BY
REACHING 60 DEGREES ON THE LAST DAY OF THIS MONTH. PRECIPITATION WAS SLIGHTLY LESS
THAN AVERAGE BY 1.68 INCHES AND THERE WERE ONLY A FEW DAYS OF TRACE AMOUNTS OF
FROZEN PRECIPITATION BY EITHER ICE PELLETS OR SMALL HAIL. LASTLY, WINDS WERE ABOUT
AVERAGE FOR THE AREA. OVERALL, THE WARMING TREND CONTINUES, BUT SEEMS LIKE IT MAY
HAVE SLOWED DOWN A BIT AND ALSO THE WINDIER AND POSSIBLE WETTER TREND HAS FADED.
